We are unable to perform waxing on any clients currently using Retin-A, Renova, prescriptive strength Glycolic Acid, Accutane or any prescribed medication for acne. Please let us know if you are on any type of medication. Waxing skin while using any of these products or medications may cause a severe reaction and/or damage to your skin. Why get WAXED or MANSCAPED?
- •Are you tried of that itchy feeling after a couple days growth from shaving? When waxing your results will last longer than shaving with no itchy re-growth.
- •Waxing isn't your thing? Try manscaping…trim up that body hair for a clean look.
- •Not just Swimmers, Runners, Cyclists and Body-Builders get waxed or manscaped.
- •Personal preference, some guys hate body hair as much as some women!
- •Less odor, hair holds onto body odors. Removing the hair cuts down on the amount of "smell".
Preparing for your treatment
- •Cleanliness is appreciated! Shower and exfoliate the area(s) to be waxed before your appointment.
- •Please NO lotions or oil!, You'll get better results if your skin is less oily.
- •Your hair should be at least 1/4 inches in length for successful results. Please don't shave two weeks prior to your appointment to ensure your hair is long enough!
- •Wear clean, loose clothing to your appointment to prevent irritation post-waxing. If having intimate areas waxed avoid putting on tight underwear post waxing.
What to Expect?
- •Will it hurt? The short answer is yes…however, the more you wax the easier it gets. The more you wax, the hair will grow back finer and thinner.
- •What if I get aroused? It is very normal for the male client to get aroused. This is nothing to be embarrassed about.
- •How long will it last? Generally speaking after your first waxing the hair is long enough to wax again in 4-6 weeks. If it's your first time getting waxed, not ALL hairs will be removed due to the hair growth pattern. After subsequent waxing all hairs will be removed.
- •Regular waxing will maximize your results. Expect to re-wax every 4-6 weeks. If you keep up a regular waxing schedule, you will start to notice that you are staying smoother longer and the stinging become less. As the hair follicles weaken and die, the hair will come in finer and thinner.
Post Waxing Care:
- •Try to avoid tight fitting clothing for the next few days.
- •Some irritation should be expected. Especially when you first begin waxing treatments. Little red dots or bumps may appear but should go away in about 24-48 hours. Keep hands away from touching freshly waxed skin, as this can encourage irritation or small pimples.
- •Keep skin Clean, Cool & Dry. No tanning beds/ sun exposure, no spray tanning, no saunas, hot tubs or hot showers for at least 24 hours. No working out for 24-28 hours, sweating (heat) causes the hair follicles to open which can cause breakouts.
- •Sexual activity should be avoided for at least 24 - 48 hours.
- •Exfoliate 2 days post waxing, if there isn't any redness use a mild exfoliator. This helps prevent ingrown hairs. Use a loofah or wash cloth…you can also purchase post waxing products from About Face.
